The latest episode of Strictly Come Dancing saw former Arsenal footballer Paul Merson become the fourth celebrity to leave the competition. Despite leaving, Paul remained upbeat, saying he felt like a winner for having learned to dance with his professional partner, Karen Hauer.

In a surprising twist, Paul and Karen found themselves in the dance-off against JLS star JB Gill and Amy Dowden, despite JB and Amy receiving a higher score from the judges. While both couples gave it their all, the judges unanimously decided to save JB and Amy after both pairs performed their routines again.

Paul expressed gratitude for his time on the show, stating, “I’ve won because I can dance now. It’s been amazing, and I’ve loved every minute of it.” His partner Karen praised him for embodying the spirit of *Strictly*, adding, “You’ve shown everyone that with a little bit of work and lots of giggles, it’s possible!”
